Xavier Russell is an award winning Film Editor with over 30 years experience. Working in both drama, factual and arts documentaries. Winning the Prix Italia for documentary - 'Vaughan Williams: A Symphonic Portrait' in 1984.
Xavier also edited the BAFTA award winning series - 'Howard Goodhall's Big Bangs' music series in 1990.
Xavier won a BISFA craft editing award for the corporate film - 'Excuse Me , But That's My Car' in 1987.
In 2019 Xavier picked up the 'Televisual Bulldog' award for 'Best Editing' on 'Killing Eve'.
More recently - 'Queen of Spain' a short film that Xavier edited picked up 'Best Short Film 2020' award
at 'The London International Short Film Festival 2020'.
Xavier has also edited acclaimed series such as - 'Zen', 'The Hour', 'The Musketeers', 'Dickensian', 'Cold Feet', 'Dr Who', 'Delicious', 'Strike Back', 'Killing Eve', 'The Witcher', 'Leonardo' ,' The Chelsea Detective'
and 'Three Pines' which is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Xavier completed editing on feature length drama/doc 'Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors'
Xavier worked with director James Tovell - who also directed 'Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb'. A Lion TV Production for Netflix. 'Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors' is now up on Netflix.
Xavier recently completed editing 'The Red King' a new 6 part mystery thriller written by Toby Whitehouse. The series produced by Quay Street productions for UKTV and Alibi. Xavier edited 4 episodes on location in Leith, Scotland with director Daniel O'Hara.
'The Red King' is now available to stream on Apple Tv and Now Tv.
Drama/Doc - 'Masacre de Los Mormons' is a gripping 4 part series that looks at the events of a family of
Mormons heading to a wedding in Northern Mexico who suddenly came under fire from a well known
drug cartel. The series was edited in Lima, Peru. Xavier worked with director Paul Wilmshurst.
A Pacha Films Production for HBO Max. The series is now available on HBO Max.

contains various singles, with mono and stereo edits. Foghat's best known song - 'Slow Ride'
currently features in the Tom Cruise action movie 'Top Gun: Maverick'.
Xavier delivered the CD booklet notes for a 2 CD Box Set
for North Carolina's finest - Nantucket. The band's first three albums -
'Nantucket', 'Your Face or Mine?' and 'Long Way To The Top' originally recorded for
the Epic label are now being reissued through Rock Candy Records in 2024.
Xavier delivered the booklet notes for legendary melodic rockers AXE . The band's first two albums 'Axe' (1979) and 'Living On The Edge' (1980) originally recorded for MCA Records are being reissued by Rock Candy Records in 2024.
Xavier delivered the booklet notes for Canadian Prog rockers
Zon second album 'Back Down To Earth'. Originally released on Epic Records in 1979
the reissue will be available on Rock Candy Records in 2024.
Xavier has recently delivered the CD booklet notes for Seattle hard rockers Q5 debut album
'Steel the Light'. The album was originally released in 1984 on Albatross Records. The reissue
will be available on Rock Candy Records in 2024.

Keeping on the music theme Xavier has also edited and directed many music videos including: Elton John's 'Nikita' and Andrew Lloyd Webber's - 'Phantom Of The Opera'. As well as being a film editor Xavier for many years has been a freelance journalist for such publications as - Sounds , Kerrang! , Classic Rock Presents - AOR. Xavier also co-wrote - 'Metallica - A Visual Documentary' for Omnibus Press.
Xavier is now a regular contributor to the rock magazine - 'Rock Candy', which is now
available in most good newsagents and bookshops both in the UK, Europe and USA.
